I’m Tolu, a conceptual designer with an eye for detail and a love for the simple things in life.
In a world that’s increasingly becoming oversaturated with media; I think that mindfulness and minimalism are important, now more than ever. I believe that ethical, user-centred design can and should help improve people’s lives.
Currently, I’m studying Graphic Design at Arts University Bournemouth and recently worked on a live, collaborative brief to promote an exhibition of Thomas Hardy works. This, along with creating a process book, sparked my interest in branding and book design. Through this and previous experience, I’ve become more skilled with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
I also enjoy illustration. This has enabled me to visually communicate ideas and quickly make an impact. It aids my design process and has been very useful with storyboarding and designing characters for a recent project where we created a shadow puppet animation sequence.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing ukulele, being in nature and rollerskating! I try my best to live minimally and not be an over-consumer; lately I’ve started buying more vintage clothes. Keeping active is also important. I’m part of the taekwondo society, which has taught me discipline and resilience. Recently, I volunteered to be part of the committee, where I communicate with members and update the social media.
I’m really excited to get a first taste of the industry and show you what I can do in an internship, so don’t hesitate to get in touch! :)
